The trailer used for loading and travelling training is a Richardson Supreme, which can take horses up to 17.2hh, has wide shallow ramps and independant Avon soft-ride suspension. It is fitted with a companion mirror for comfort, which can be obscured if necessary.
As well as a large range of well maintained tack, boots, dually halters, ropes and pads, tarpaulin, traffic cones, tyres, coloured poles, and electric toothbrushes. We also have a broad selection of sticks and canes sporting gloved handles, feather dusters, carrier bags, and plumbers insulation foam - all vital tools!
The Professional 50' roundpen is a fantastic tool, providing horses with the freedom necessary to deal with new situations in a safe environment. Being able to work so closely with a horse, whilst he can be free to move away from you if he chooses makes learning a faster, easier and safer process. The round pen is used primarily for starting youngsters, re-starting older horses, de-sensitisation (clippers, carrier bags, tarpaulin etc..) initial join-up, and is also ideal for reluctant loading training.
Tip: Don't forget that horses have a psychological as well as a physiological need to chew up to 18 hours in 24. Preventing this behaviour, whether through box rest, weight management or just poor grazing can lead to stereotypical behaviours like weaving, wind sucking and box walking, and sufferers often develop stomach ulcers. Should you need to reduce the calorific content of the fibre element of your horses diet, then simply soak good quality hay for 12 hours before feeding. You can of course also provide a grazing muzzle for wearing up to 12 hours a day, which allows natural grazing to take place but reduces the intake dramatically.
